5 Ways to Celebrate the Holidaze with Weed

Christmas is the happiest time of year for everyone, including stoners. Having time off from work for the holidays means more spare moments to spend getting high with friends and family, and that’s definitely something to celebrate.

In this blog, we’ll be walking you through some of the best ways to include weed in your holiday festivities.

Why Get High This Christmas?

If you’re still on the fence about whether rolling a fat blunt this holiday season is a good idea, we think we can sell you on it. Here are some of the best reasons to get high for the holidays.

Weed Is Good for You. Seriously.

Despite what the boomers will tell you, there are plenty of health-related reasons to spark up a J. Overall, getting high just makes you feel incredible. It can improve your mood, mellow you out, help to relieve stress and take the edge off of the winter blahs.

There’s a growing web of medical research on its additional health benefits. If you’re feeling a little eh about the holidays, a little bit of weed might be exactly what you need.

Getting High Makes Even the Most Annoying Christmas Songs Sound Like Masterpieces

One of the members of Fleetwood Mac is quoted as saying that music sounds just better when you have a little extra… magic in your system. That statement pretty much sums up the sentiments of millions of musicians and music lovers around the world. Getting high has long been seen as a catalyst for creativity and a gateway to hearing music with new ears.

With that being said, hearing the synth riff from that one Paul McCartney Christmas song over and over again is enough to drive anyone crazy. Luckily, weed really does have a tendency to make music a lot more enjoyable.

This means you just might find yourself humming along to “Last Christmas” and “Santa Baby” this year. With enough of the devil’s lettuce, even the cheesiest, most saccharine holiday tunes can start sounding pretty damn nice.

Weed Is the Gift That Keeps on Giving

The holidays are the perfect time to be a little bit more generous, especially if you’ve been a Scrooge throughout the rest of the year. And of course, there’s no better form of generosity than sharing your weed.

When you give the gift of dank kush, you’re sharing the gift that keeps on giving. You can get multiple good highs off of a little bit of weed, so it really is incredibly kind to share yours with the people you love. Give some to your mom, your dad, your grouchy neighbor—hell, even your grandma! Everyone needs a good high around the holidays.

You Won’t Be Stressing About All of the Chaos of Christmas

If Christmas tends to stress you out, you’re not alone. All of the shopping, card-writing, decorating, and seeing relatives definitely isn’t always great for your mental and emotional health. In the times when the holidays are wearing you out and getting you to your last nerve, it’s a better time than ever to take a few hits off of a good blunt.

Weed has a reputation for mellowing you out, and with good reason. While marijuana can occasionally make you feel a little anxious or on edge, these side effects tend to only occur with certain strains of cannabis. When you need something to smoke that will calm your nerves and help you get through the chaos of the holidays, we recommend sativa. This strain of cannabis is known for its ability to make you feel calm, relaxed, and, on occasion, a little drowsy.

Now, enough chit-chat. Let’s count down the five best ways to celebrate the holidaze with weed this year.

1. Get High and Go Caroling

Angels we have heard on high. Get it?

If you’re planning on going caroling with friends or family members this year, you’ve definitely got the right idea. As one character in a beloved movie says, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” But you know what’s better than just caroling? Caroling while high!

Smoking a bit before going out into the cold and belting out Christmas songs can definitely make for a good time, especially if you’re with people you love. It’s especially entertaining when everyone in your group of carolers is in on the fun: the more, the merrier (literally this time).

Weed has a tendency to lower your inhibitions just a little bit, so it’s the perfect way to get yourself to sing carols if you’re a little shy. Just take a few hits from a bong or a blunt, and you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world.

2. Bake Christmas Edibles

Brownies, cookies, muffins, and more are all Christmas staples, and you might have been planning on baking some already this holiday season. But what if there was a way to take your Christmas treats to the next level? The good news is that there is: just bake in some weed.

Edibles offer you a uniquely trippy and delicious experience, and they’re incredibly easy to make. The best way to make yours is with cannabis-infused butter, also known as cannabutter: a delicious way to get baked.

This tasty ingredient is made by combining a cup of butter with around seven grams of ground weed. This weed needs to be decarboxylated, which means you’ll need to put it in the oven for around 40 minutes at 250 degrees. This baking process allows the weed to reach its full culinary potential and brings out its best qualities.

Using cannabutter, you can make just about anything you want and infuse it with weed. We recommend pairing your homemade cannabutter with a recipe for classic Christmas cookies, replacing the standard butter in the recipe with your weed-infused batch.

When making your own edibles at home, one important rule of thumb is to not overdo it on cannabis. Without using a scale, it can be very difficult to tell how much weed you’re putting in your baked goods, which can lead to a pretty overwhelming and long-lasting high. To avoid getting more than you bargained for, make sure to weigh your weed carefully before using it to make cannabutter.

3. Make a Ganjabread House

Gingerbread houses are a Christmas tradition in homes around the world, and there are plenty of unique spins on the classic design. Some weed aficionados have carefully crafted their gingerbread houses with weed-themed designs like cannabis leaves made from frosting, and we salute them for their creativity. However, we think that an easier (and more fun) approach is to make what’s known as a “ganjabread” house.

As you might have guessed, what we’re talking about here is using weed-infused gingerbread to make your own stoner-friendly Christmas treats. This is another instance when cannabutter definitely comes in handy. For the standard ganjabread recipe, all you need is sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, flour, butter, cannabis, and a little bit of molasses.

You can mix these ingredients together to make the perfect foundation for a tasty gingerbread house—one that will get you very high.

4. Eggnog, Pot, and Christmas Movies: The Perfect Threesome

Eggnog is a classic Christmas beverage that no one can resist. Made with egg yolks, whipped egg whites, sugar, cream, and milk, it’s a sweet treat that is often enjoyed spiked. To avoid getting crossfaded, we recommend avoiding drinking spiked ‘nog while high. However, you can still definitely enjoy some virgin eggnog while rolling up a blunt!

If you plan on getting high and enjoying a cool glass of eggnog, we recommend pairing this relaxing experience with some of your favorite Christmas movies. Whether you prefer the hard-boiled 80s action classic starring a certain bald-headed hero or the lovable antics of a man who thinks he’s an elf, holiday films are better than ever when enjoyed while high.

5. Grab Some Weed-Themed Swag

Need some Christmas attire that will let the world know that you love getting high?
