STRAIGHT OUTTA PAWNEE

There are so many reasons why a show about the absurd antics of an Indiana town's public officials attempting to improve their city of Pawnee is a million times better than other shows. And yes, that includes a certain sitcom that depicts the everyday lives of office employees inScranton, Pennsylvania.

Sure, you might think this is getting into apples and oranges territory as they're completely different shows with self-contained universes (all our favorite shows are owned by the Peacock, TBH).

But they have quite a few similarities: both are filmed in mockumentary style. Both originated from the wildly funny and unbelievably brilliant minds of Greg Daniels and Michael Schur. And both are loved by the same geeky audience.

While people love to debate about which of the two is the best sitcom of all time, the answer is pretty obvious: it's the hilarious show about the day-to-day activities of the Parks and Recreation Department in Pawnee, Indiana, that led to the funniest moments. Big ol’ shout out to Aubrey Plaza, Rashida Jones, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Amy Poehler (our queen-long may she reign).

Hold Up -- Pawnee?

Yup, Pawnee, Indiana. Much likeSpringfield, home to our favorite working-class family of five,Seymour's Steamed Hams andMoe's Tavern, as well as Arlen, home to the bestpropane and propane accessories salesman on the planet,Alamo beer, and the Landry Longhorns, Pawnee isn't a real place.

But that doesn't mean it's not real in our hearts, no joke. Episodes were set in the fictional city of Pawnee that'sranks higher in friendship than obesity (but barely). However, the popular sitcom was actually filmed in sunny Southern California.

So you know what that means, right? While you can't visit the beloved town of Pawnee because, well, it's not real, you can certainly visit Southern California!

What are some of the most memorable and noteworthy locations from the maps of Pawnee, you ask? Believe it or not, there are actually quite a few:

JJ's Diner is home to waffles and political elite meeting place (currently unofficial) and theking of breakfasts' favorite place to chow down on eggs and bacon.

The Snakehole Lounge is Pawnee's sickest place to get wasted offSnake Juice. But that's not all -- in Los Angeles, you can also findCharles Mulligan's Steakhouse, where the food is so good, our favorite meat-loving, wood-working, mustache-rocking Nick Offerman character takes a picture of every steak he's ever eaten.

Don’t forgetRent-A-Swag, Pawnee's only teen/tween clothing rental service that has slogans promoting exclusive offers of the dopest apparel (though it doesn't rivalFamous IRL if we’re honest).

You may doubt that the greatest town in America features the pit, a rampant raccoon infestation, and some citizens of Pawnee who put their entire mouths on water fountains.

However, compared to the residents of Muncie and Eagleton (UGH barf), the colleagues (and besties) of the parks and recreation department of Pawnee live in paradise.

Now that you know all about Pawnee and where you can geek out on some of the most iconic places from the show, the only thing left to do is totreat yo' self Retta and Aziz Ansari style to an awesome tee fromFamous In Real Life.

Whether you want to show your love forPawnee's #1 rock band, spend a day withLi’l Sebastian (RIP) at the Pawnee Harvest Festival, or let everyone know that you'restraight outta Pawnee, we have just the t-shirt for you.
