Not sure if you heard the news, but America is literallynumber one. Yup, it’s true. The US of YAY is the best of the best - no cap.

And to those who feel otherwise or think we’re just a bunch of sports-lovin’ looney tunes who chow down on one too manyhotdogs only to be washed down by a pint ofbeer-- don’t worry, we know you just hate us ‘cuz you ain’tU.S.

We also know that you’re probably talking all that smack without ever actually stepping foot inMeowica because if you had, you’d undoubtedly agree that we’re theGOAT. Seriously! We have gigantic movie theaters, make catchy country songs, andday drink like it’s going out of style (it’s not, in case you were wondering).

We are the inventors of the chocolate chip cookie, Tennessee Whiskey, GPS, and the one and only Chuck Norris (you’re welcome, world). We’re theback-to-back world war champs, make the bestapple pie, and have beenspilling the tea since 1773. In a country that’s waytoo cool for British rule, trust us when we say, “it’s lit.”

But it hasn’t always been aparty in the USA. No sir. It took many years of blood, sweat, and tears to get to where we are today.

America definitely has had a storied past:

  • American colonists took a stand against the Brits by dumping over a whopping 90,000 pounds of tea into Boston Harbor, leading to America taking her independence in 1776.
  • During the Second World War, Rosie the Riveter became an iconic image urging women to fill empty jobs left by men going to fight overseas. In 1945, about 25% of women held jobs outside their houses.
  • Rosa Parks invigorated the struggle for racial equality when she refused to give up her bus seat in 1955.
  • Brave queens sparked the Stonewall Riots in 1969, causing one of the most pivotal moments in LGBTQ+ history.
  • Tarana Burke coined the phrase “Me Too” in 2006 to support survivors of sexual violence, which later became a worldwide phenomenon shining a spotlight on powerful people making painfully stupid decisions.

That being said, what makes the U.S. so great is that with each pivotal event in history, we learned, changed our ways, and grew, making America the free country that we love today. And if you ask us, that’s a really beautiful thing.

Here at Famous In Real Life, we’re proud to be Americans. That’s why we created a massiveinventory of unique patriotic apparel for those looking to show theirred, white, and blue pride.
